In particular, the article highlights those aspects of Erpenbeck's works that could be of interest to Polish readers, such as coming to terms with the Nazi past, but also with the dictatorship of the communist regime and the contemporary problems. The Polish and German reception of Erpenbeck's works focuses mainly on memoirs, the article presents similarities and differences in the Polish and German reception of, primarily, the novel Visitation (Germ. Heimsuchung), as well as the analogies in presenting the elements of the fictive world by Erpenbeck with those found in the works of Polish writers Olga Tokarczuk and Joanna Bator.</p> ER -
