Vol. 10 No. 1 (2025): SHAME IN LITERATURE AND CULTURE

The tenth anniversary volume is devoted to the theme of shame. Researchers from Polish and foreign academic institutions analyse works of Englishlanguage, Germanlanguage, Italian and Polish literature in order to trace manifestations of shame in literature and culture, highlight its power, its individual and social effects, and strategies for “appeasing” it, thereby revealing its often unrecognised and hitherto undescribed, unexpected facets.
